Podcast
Before jumping into an extended clarification of what a
podcast is, we should take a peek at "podcast" itself. Initially said
by Ben Hammersley in a 2004 Guardian daily paper article, the "unit"
of podcast is obtained from Apple's "iPod" computerized media player;
and the "cast" segment of podcast is taken from Radio's
"broadcast" term. As an issue of clarity, since it's named after
Apple's iPod, does not as a matter of course imply that you have to possess or
utilize an iPod — or any useful advanced media player so far as that is
concerned — to appreciate a podcast.
A digital sound document made accessible on the Internet for
downloading to a PC or compact media player, ordinarily accessible as an
arrangement, new portions of which can be gotten by subscribers consequently. (International
Podcast Day, 2014)
Webcast
Web telecast in which a live occasion (supported by sound,
video, and visit abilities) is introduced to a extensive number of web clients
from a site. Frequently sued for briefings, classes, and big name interviews,
webcast permits intuitive client cooperation. Likewise called net cast, net
casting, or webcasting. (How to webcast, 2013)
